CPT code 99239 is used to report all services
provided to a patient on the day of discharge, if other
than the initial date of inpatient status (i.e., the
situation where the patient is discharged the same day
as they are admitted) if the
total time spent exceeds 30 minutes. There
should be specific documentation in the chart of such. |
