Extracranial Vertebral Artery Stenosis - Case 1

A 63 year-old man presented with recurrent spells of transient vertigo and ataxia. His MRI of the brain was normal as was his MRA of the intracranial and extracranial circulation.

Outline the Vertebral Stenosis

Extracranial Vertebral Stenosis: Angiogram of the right subclavian artery. Note the high grade stenosis at the origin of the vertebral artery. This lesion was the cause of this patient's symptoms, and was successfully treated by placement of a stent.
