Thalamic Intracerebral Hemorrhage - Intraparenchymal - Case 2

A 45 year-old hypertensive man developed right sided numbness which slowly worsened over two hours. A lacunar stroke was suspected.

Thalamic Intracerebral Hemorrhage: Axial CT scan. Note that there is a small hemorrhage in the region of the left thalamus. With very small hemorrhages, there is no associated headache, nausea or vomiting. A small hemorrhage can easily mimic a small ischemic stroke clinically.
