I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I graduated from Middle College High School, physically located on Contra Costa Community College (CCC), with ~80 college units. After transferring to San Francisco State University from an extra year at CCC, I obtained my degree in Biology (Physiology), Bachelors of Science. I was motivated to go to college by my parents, my two older brothers (first generation college students) and a mentoring program called Metas. Originally I wanted to be an Algebra teacher but then I became surprised on how a tiny thing (the cell) makes up everything living. I enjoy volunteering, watching The Office, and hold the unofficial title of “The Cleanliest” in the lab since January 2015.
