Master of Science in Anesthesia Clinical Rotations

The Case Western Reserve University Master of Science in Anesthesia Program is the program with the largest national footprint. As such, the MSA Program maintains affiliations with nearly 100 hospitals and clinics across the country. These affiliates allow students at all three locations to rotate throughout their region as well as nationally. Each location has primary, regional affiliates where students complete the bulk of their clinical rotations.

The clinical sites include a wide range of hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics in twenty jurisdictions throughout the continental United States. This is an expansive network of healthcare providers who are deeply committed to the values of the CWRU MSA Program and the education of our students. These valued partners provide superior general and specialty training for our students and unique opportunities for learning, observing and networking.

In the second year, MSA students can request rotations at any of these clinical sites. This opportunity allows for students to explore different settings and deepen their knowledge of specialties. Year after year, students report that these clinical rotations provide them with a unique level of preparation. They see higher acuity cases, are able to test their skills in emergency situations and grow increasingly confident in the operating room. Through these experiences, students are also able to network with potential employers and find the hospital and anesthesia care team that’s the right fit for them after graduation.

Many students leave these clinical rotations with invaluable experience and connections—and, often, with job offers.

MSA Clinical Affiliates

In exchange for clinical instruction for our students, the MSA Program provides instructors at our clinical affiliates with a host of resources, including Continuing Medical Education opportunities in anesthetic knowledge and clinical education to both support our clinical instructors and to further refinement of our student’s learning experience.
