Dr. Selman's Surgical Rehearsal Platform featured on CNN and in Plain Dealer

Warren Selman, MD, University Hospitals Neurosurgeon-in-Chief, will be featured on CNN April 11 for his work on a surgical simulator.

Producer Heather Butler and Videographer David Jenkins from the CNN program Erin Burnett Outfront visited University Hospitals Case Medical Center on March 19 to learn more about the development and use of the 3-D surgical simulator created by the Cleveland-based startup company Surgical Theater. Together with Andrew Sloan, M.D., UH Director of the Brain Tumor and Neuro-oncology Center, they demonstrated and discussed the benefits of the Surgery Rehearsal Platform (SRP), which reconstructs CT and MRI images/scans into dynamic, interactive 3-D models with life-like tissue reaction and accurate modeling of surgery tools. The Surgical Theater story is expected to air during CNN’s Outfront on April 11 at 7 p.m. (and repeated at 11 p.m.).

Surgical Theater also was recently featured in the Plain Dealer.
