Care of the Community

Prepare students to address community health issues and health disparities in the context of societal and economic systems.

Case Western Reserve University PA students are exposed to a wide variety of clinical experiences as part of the Preclinical course, through their exposure to the Community Service and Experiential Learning Sites.

Students are exposed to pediatric populations through the Cleveland Metro School District with Height, Weight, Vision, and Lead Screenings.  Nutrition Detectives and Oral Health initiatives.  They learn multidisciplinary services for at-risk preschool children at Early Intervention team meetings.  CareStrong, Student Run Health Clinic, and MedWorks help provide training in adult preventative health.  Experiences at St. Herman House, Lutheran Men's Ministry Lakeside Shelter, and Zelma George teach students the value of interacting with marginalized populations and increasing health literacy.
