Edwin Vences-Class President
I have a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of St. Thomas – Houston. I am the President of the PA Class of 2020 and Interprofessional Community Service Committee PA Student Representative. I chose CWRU PA Program because of its strong affiliation with the Cleveland Clinic and its large involvement in giving back to the community through our service as PA students. CWRU is really the place to be for a world-renowned PA education!
Casey Helms-Class Vice President, Committee of Student Representatives
I attended Ohio Wesleyan University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in exercise science and a minor in biology, and also played men's lacrosse. Subsequently, I earned a Master of Science in exercise physiology/adult fitness from The University of Akron. I am Vice President of the PA Class of 2020, as well as the representative for the PA program on the Case Med Committee of Student Representatives.
Selena Nguyen-Class Treasurer
I am the Treasurer for the PA Program! I'm from Michigan and went to the University of Michigan (Go Blue!!), where I received my B.S. in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience. I've already learned so much from my short time in the program already and am excited to keep learning and exploring my new vibrant home of Cleveland!
Rachel Rosinski-Class Secretary
I graduated from Michigan State University with a BS in Human Biology with a minor in Spanish (Go Green!) I am secretary of the PA Hudson Society and Class if 2020 as well as one of the coordinators of the mentor ship program. I have a Golden Retriever that I love and my favorite activities to de-stress are running and painting.

My name is Allison Gmelich and I am from St. Louis, MO. I attended Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL and then worked as a phlebotomist at St. Louis Children's Hospital for two years before moving to Cleveland for PA School. I am looking forward to continuing to work with my classmates to make these next two years the best they can be!
I graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Biology and minor in Chemistry. I currently serve as our student society secretary, hold a board position at the Student Run Health Clinic and am one of the coordinators for the mentorship program.
OAPA (SCSR) Representative- Shelby Searcy
I reside in Lakewood, OH and grew up in Ohio (I love Cleveland!). I got my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at The University of Dayton. I wanted to be a Physician Assistant and decided to pursue this career to help bridge the gap in access to care in areas of the United States that need more providers. When I’m not at school, I love to hike/spend time outdoors, cook and play with my Blue Heeler puppy, Rosie!
Assembly of Representatives- Katherine Feng
I was originally born in China, grew up in Arkansas, and spent the last five years in Cleveland. I earned a B.S. in Biochemistry and Psychology from the University of Arkansas and a M.S. in Medical Physiology from Case Western.
I am CWRU’s current representative to the Assembly of Representatives, the legislative body of the national Student Academy. I serve as a liaison between AAPA, the Student Academy, and CWRU’s PA program, engaging in conversation with PA student leaders around the country and keeping our students up to date with PA news and all the opportunities offered by AAPA. In my free time I enjoy hiking with my pup Nellie on the great trails around Cleveland!
Outreach Co-Coordinator-Alexandria Lucas
I graduated from Colby College with a B.A. in Neuroscience and a minor in Math. I played on the women’s lacrosse and rowing teams. I am the Outreach Chair and am on the board for the Student Run Health Clinic. I grew up on the coast of Maine and enjoy skiing and surfing and lived in Boston for two years before PA school. I recently rescued two kittens from the Cleveland APL!
Inter-Society Council Rep and AOR Alternative- Rachelle Fair
My name is Rachelle Fair and I am from Youngstown, OH. I was an MA/office manager at a small family practice for two years prior to PA school. I am on the Student Run Health Clinic Outreach committee and a part of the Aging in Place interprofessional program at Case. A couple things I love about being at CWRU is the amount of clinical experience we get early on in our education as well as the amount of interprofessional volunteer opportunities available. I am a 4H advisor back home, and in my spare time I enjoy triathlons, horseback riding, and dog training with my German Shepherd, Nico.
Diversity Chair-Connie Cheng
I am currently the Class of 2021's Diversity Chair. I was born and raised in New Jersey. I studied Nutrition and Biology at Rutgers University and then got my clinical experience working as an ED/GI scribe and ophthalmology technician for 3 years before starting school here at Case. My hobbies include: hot yoga, crossfit, eating, cooking, reading, traveling, hiking, and playing with my puppy, Mako.
Biomedical Graduate Student Organization (BGSO) Co-Reps- Lauren Campbell and Addison Franklin
Lauren Campbell- I grew up in Austin, Texas so I have a deep love for Tex-Mex and live music. I went to Baylor University, where I studied Supply Chain Management. When I'm not studying, I spend my free time watching college sports, trying new recipes, and explaining to my friends why breakfast tacos are the perfect food.
Graduate Student Representative (GSC)-Angelina Huber

Kristen Carey-I am originally from Lima, Ohio. I received a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Ohio State University and a Master of Science in Physical Education and Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina. Prior to PA school, I was an Athletic Trainer for 8 years. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, hiking, and trying new restaurants.
Holly Moore- I graduated from the University of Michigan in 2018 with a degree in Kinesiology, and I currently serve as a co-chair on the Wellness Committee for the PA program. I am originally from the Cleveland area, and I am loving being back home for school! When I’m not studying I like to spend time with my family (and my dog, Murphy), travel, and of course watch Michigan Football in the fall (Go Blue!!).
