Empowering Through Education
Musculoskeletal Radiology offers a one-year fellowship accepting two fellows per year. We offer a wide variety of diagnostic services and image guided interventions for patients with orthopaedic and rheumatologic conditions. Fellows work closely with attending physicians to gain expertise in orthopedic and rheumatologic imaging interpretation.
Providing a Full Spectrum of Services
Our integrated clinical service covers the Department of Orthopaedics, the emergency room, and multiple outpatient imaging sites. We provide a broad range of diagnostic services spanning all imaging modalities including plain film, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance (MR). Frequently performed interventions include soft tissue and bone biopsies; joint aspiration and injections; and radiofrequency ablation of benign bone tumors.
Advancements Through Research
Currently, multiple fellows, residents, and medical students are involved in ongoing research projects within our division. These include the development of novel noninvasive imaging modalities for imaging shoulder labral pathology and treatment of early cartilage loss with intra-articular platelet injection among others. We are well represented at national radiological and subspecialty meetings presenting over a dozen electronic exhibits and giving multiple podium presentations over the course of the past academic year.
