The Office of Strategic Events supervises and directs the planning and coordination of fundraising events for the Office of Medical Development and External Affairs involving university donors and selected major School of Medicine events. The events on this page are our current ticketed, fundraising events.

4.18.20 | Yoga for Research 

Join host Kim Sowinski for an all-level, Ayurveda-inspired yoga practice, featuring live cello music! Each participant will also receive a $10 gift card to use the day of at Michael Angelo's Winery. All donations will benefit the Research Institute for Children’s Health at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Visit to register or donate.

8.8.20 | Giving Kids Hope 

Rock for Research with the 5th Annual Giving Kids Hope Event! Giving Kids Hope is an exclusive and interactive dining and drink experience that will feature a gourmet dinner by THYME Catering, local celebrity WKYC emcee, and the presentation of the Giving Kids Hope Award to a key supporter. Guests will get to walk the red carpet and enjoy the newly renovated Agora Theatre and Ballroom, a specialty cocktail, high-end wine raffle, and exciting silent and live auctions presented by local celebrity entertainer David McCreary, host of Cash Explosion. 2020 | Shaking with Laughter

Shaking With Laughter was founded by Karen and Marc Jaffe in 2011. The event has become a recognized and anticipated event in the community to fund research for a cure for Parkinson's Disease. The CWRU School of Medicine with the Cleveland Brain Health Initiative will continue this legacy. Stay tuned!
