Dresden, Institute of Technology, Dresden, Germany | ACTIVE RESEARCH RNA Protein Assemblies Understand the principles that underlie the design and function of complexes that contain RNA and proteins. Specific focus: function of RNA helicases - the motors and switches that facilitate changes in shape and composition of RNA-protein complexes. Single Molecule Fluorescence Investigate changes in the shape of individual biological complexes. POTENTIAL IMPACTOur research illuminates functional principles of biological nano-assemblies. This knowledge will faciliate the rational design of nano-assemblies for therapeutic intervention or for biology-inspired nanotechnological complexes.
