ACTIVE RESEARCH
"Smart" molecular imaging probes
Developing new MRI probes that detect enzymes and metabolites that react with the probes to change image signals.
New MRI methods to Assess Tumor Angiogenesis
Developing new nano-scale MRI probes and MR imaging methods to more accurately assess tumor vascular permeability characteristics, in order to improve the detection of tumor angiogenesis and assessment of anti-angiogenic therapies. |
|
New MRI methods to Assess Osteoarthritis
Developing new MRI probes and MR imaging detection methods to more accurately assess loss of proteoglycans, which is an early biomarker of osteoarthritis.
POTENTIAL IMPACT
This research will enable the detection of enzymes and metabolites that are important biomarkers of many biological processes and disease states. This research will also enable the selective detection of multiple probes, which will provide opportunities to non-invasively assess molecular signatures of diseases.
