FPB celebrates Black History Month 2020

The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing welcomed Deborah L. Plummer, PhD, during its annual Black History Month celebration. Dr. Plummer is the author of 2019's "Some of My Friends Are...The Daunting Challenges and Untapped Potential of Cross-Racial Friendships," an examination of the factors that influence the nature and intensity of cross-racial friendships. Her presentation on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, was recorded. It will be available until Monday, March 16, 2020. Dr. Plummer's talk begins at the 25:00 mark.

Dr. Plummer is the vice chancellor of diversity and inclusion at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and a professor of psychiatry and quantitative health sciences in the UMass Graduate School of Nursing. Read more about Dr. Plummer's work on her website.
