Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing works to promote diversity and inclusion among students, staff and faculty through open communication with our campus community and events. Our school, and Case Western Reserve University, aspires to be an inclusive environment that sees, hears and treats all members with dignity and fairness. Diversity is the array of differences, both visible and invisible, that may affect human interaction. As we work to become more diverse, we embrace our differences, which add value and advance the goals and objectives for the school of nursing.

Welcome to our webpage!

I am honored to serve as the newly appointed Associate Dean of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at the FPB School of Nursing. Although, I officially serve in this role, the work of inclusive excellence is the responsibility of all students, staff, and faculty of FPB. Addressing and removing the barriers of racism, sexism, ableism, xenophobia, sexual identification, and religious beliefs must happen at both the structural and individual levels in order to achieve justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

While I recognize that discussions, activities, and programming around these issues may be uncomfortable or challenging, they are necessary to foster and sustain an environment where all people are valued and respected. I encourage you to intentionally participate in and contribute to making FPB a more welcoming and just place for everyone to learn, grow, and work.

Refer to the resources on our DEI webpages and get involved in opportunities to celebrate our rich diversity and sense of belonging.

Seemingly simple acts of civility, respect, kindness, and humility go a long way in connecting our common humanity.

Warm regards,

Camille Warner
