The Dorothy Ebersbach Academic Center for Flight Nursing: Education
Are you looking to advance your nursing degree to help provide hospital-level care outside of a hospital?
You’ve come to the right place. At the Dorothy Ebersbach Academic Center for Flight Nursing you will learn how to care for acute, emergent or critically ill patients in unstructured environments.
As a student in the first formal training program of its kind, you will have access to all of the Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing’s cutting-edge technology—including the nation’s first flight nursing helicopter simulator built into an actual helicopter and top-ranked hospitals.
As a student you will:
- prepare to practice in unstructured environments
- participate in interdisciplinary disaster-response training during annual summer camp
- conduct research to build the evidence base for practice in air medical services
Named in honor of alumna Dorothy Ebersbach, a Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) member and public health nurse, the flight nursing program continues to create better ways to provide acute care using air medical transport.
