July 13-16, 2018
2018 marks our 16th annual conference dedicated to the specialty of Critical Care Transport. This experience is focused on providing a collection of topics for both experienced flight crews as well as those aspiring to join a critical care transport team in the future.
This year’s conference will feature a Fundamental Critical Care Support course offered through the Society of Critical Care Medicine. The two-day FCCS course prepares non-intensivists to manage critically ill patients for the first 24 hours until transfer or appropriate critical care consultation can be arranged. Course fees include all FCCS materials and the certification examination at the conclusion of Day 2.
FCCS course material will be sent out in advance of the Flight Camp so you can come prepared for the lectures and skills labs. Successful achievement of FCCS provider status requires preparation and study, as it’s an advanced educational experience.
The final two days of the course provide hands-on experience with mechanical circulatory support devices (ECMO, Impella, Balloon Pumps, VADs), point-of-care ultrasound, and several simulation experiences, including high-fidelity pediatric and high-risk obstetric simulation exercises.
26 hours of nursing and EMS continuing education has been applied for, as well as the opportunity to obtain FCCS certification. Join us for a great weekend!
Most Flight Camp events will be held at the FPB School of Nursing on the CWRU campus. Simulation exercises on Day 4 will be held at our critical care transport and helicopter simulator, and shuttle transportation will be provided.
We are working to secure reduced-price lodging on the CWRU campus for Flight Camp attendees. We will send an email with a link to registered attendees once details are finalized.
