Licensure and Certification Disclosure Statements

BSN Program

Graduates can apply to take the national NCLEX exam in any US state, upon successful completion of the BSN program. Guidelines for taking the national NCLEX exam may vary by state. Go to the Board of Nursing website for a specific state to find the instructions for RN license application for nursing student graduates.

MN Program

Graduates can apply to take the national NCLEX exam in any US state, upon successful completion of the MN program. Guidelines for taking the national NCLEX exam may vary by state. Go to the Board of Nursing website for a specific state to find the instructions for RN license application for nursing student graduates.

MSN Program

Graduates of the Master of Science (MSN) program majors are eligible to apply to sit for the national certification exam in her/his respective MSN major. Also, graduates are eligible for licensure as advanced practice nurses (APRNs) in states and territories of the United States. Our MSN curriculum includes content based on the laws and regulations delineating the scope of practice for APRNs in Ohio. If a graduate applies for APRN licensure in another state, the graduate may be asked to meet additional requirements based on the respective state’s or territory’s practice act and scope of practice for APRNs.

Accreditation

The Nurse Midwifery Program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) (formerly ACNM Division of Accreditation) in 2015. The next accreditation is due in 2025.

The Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing's Nurse Anesthesia programs that lead to the Master of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice or Post-Master's Certification have been accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). Given this action of the COA, the program will be scheduled for its next consideration of continued accreditation in Spring 2030.
