The ReMIND study compares the effectiveness of a two-part intervention to reduce stress in parent caregivers over six months. The intervention includes Resourcefulness Training© (Jaclene A. Zauszniewski, PhD, RN-BC, FAAN, 1995) and mindfulness meditation via a smartphone application called Stop, Breathe & Think™.

Participant information is collected at face-to-face visits to understand the effect of the intervention on physical (brain activation through a fMRI scan, C-reactive protein, and IL-6 through a blood draw and cortisol through a hair sample) and emotional (distress, quality of life) outcomes. This study is the first to examine the use of this promising intervention to reduce stress in parent caregivers of technology-dependent children.
