Dr. Luebbers is an Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine in the Center for Medical Education.  She is the Director of Interprofessional Education and the primary investigator on a 4-year education grant from the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation that brings together 4 professional schools and multiple clinical sites.  She is a board certified pathologist who practiced in a variety of settings and recently completed a national post-doctoral fellowship for professional leadership development in healthcare quality and systems improvement, The Quality Scholar’s Program, at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center.  

Dr. Luebbers is the Director of Quality Improvement and Systems Science Education in the Physician Assistant Program in the CWRU School of Medicine. Her focus in healthcare improvement is education of health care professionals and students through interprofessional team learning for improving collaborative care. She serves as the CWRU School of Medicine faculty advisor for the Interprofessional Student Run Free Clinic and participates in many other aspects of medical and interprofessional education Ellen likes to hike, kayak, camp and generally be outdoors. She is married and has two kids and a dog.
