Search Process

After leading Case Western Reserve since 2007, President Barbara R. Snyder announced in February that she would be leaving in the fall* to become president of the Association of American Universities.

Trustee and alumnus Fred DiSanto, who will become the board’s chair this summer, is leading the search process.

After requesting campus nominations, DiSanto named a Presidential Search Advisory Committee Feb. 13. Its charge is “to help inform the search by gathering campus perspectives on key topics—for example, key challenges and opportunities Case Western Reserve faces; experiences and qualities our next leader should possess; and aspirations for the university in the coming years.”

The advisory committee began a series of listening sessions Feb. 17; it also is distributing online surveys to the campus and alumni communities regarding these topics.

The advisory committee will provide the search committee a report of its findings April 14 (this date has been extended from March 31). The report also will be shared on this website.

DiSanto will continue to provide updates regarding the search throughout the process.

*The precise date of President Snyder’s fall departure will depend on the progress of the search.
