Forward Thinking: Planning for the Future of Case Western Reserve University

Under the guidance of its recently appointed president, Barbara R. Snyder, Case Western Reserve University seeks to strengthen its impact in education, in research, scholarship and creative endeavors and in other forms of discovery, as well as in service to society. Central to this commitment is the development of a strategic plan.

Forward Thinking: Our Strategic Plan for Case Western Reserve University 2008–2013 was completed and approved by the university's Board of Trustees in June 2008 following a nine-month process that included the full Case Western Reserve community.

Led by the provost with wide participation by faculty, staff, students and alumni and with contributions from the University Plan Steering Committee, working group, issues task forces and planning consultants, the process built on the foundation established during 2006-2007 and incorporated strategic plans developed by each of its schools. Numerous preliminary task force reports and plan documents also informed the final product.
