Provost Scholars Yearly Grand Field Trip

In the fall and spring semesters, the Provost Scholars visit local museums, theaters, science centers and neighborhood attractions to enrich their learning and knowledge of different cultures, histories and subject areas. Outside of these regular field trips the Provost Scholars will will visit a larger tourist attraction to celebrate their completion of the year.

In May 2015, the Provost Scholars visited Niagara Falls Park in Niagara Falls, New York. The Scholars visited the Niagara Adventure Theater, Cave of the Winds, Maid of the Mist, Aquarium of Niagara, and Niagara Gorge Discovery Center. Each student and participating chaperon received a day pass into the Park, as well as meals and transportation. In the following years, the Provost Scholars visited Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 2016, Detroit, Michigan in 2017, Columbus, Ohio in 2018, Oberlin and Sandusky, Ohio in 2019, (there was a hiatus on field trips in 2020 & 2021 due to the pandemic) and the 2022 Field Trip will be to Kent State University and Zoar Village, Ohio.
