NIH: National Institutes of Health (NIH) Advancing Health Disparities Interventions Through Community-Based Participatory Research

The overarching goals of the Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Program are to enhance community capacity in research for which they will directly benefit, support collaborative intervention projects addressing health disparities, and accelerate the translation of findings into improved health and health outcomes. The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to support promising community interventions using CBPR principles and approaches aimed at reducing and eventually eliminating health disparities.

Applicants are encouraged to consult with their Associate Deans for Research prior to internal submission to assure they meet eligibility criteria and their projects meet stated program objectives.

Submission Process

Step 1

Internal deadline for submission of a one-page Letter of Intent (LOI) is no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 22, 2015. The letter of intent should be a one-page explanation of what the researcher wants and how it meets the funding criteria. Materials should be submitted as a PDF attachment to an email sent to Dr. Suzanne Rivera at suzanne.rivera@case.edu.

Step 2

Final nominees will be notified of their selection by June 26, 2015.

Step 3

Letter of Intent due to Sponsor July 3, 2015.

Step 4

Final proposal due in the Office of Research Administration by July 27, 2015.

Step 5

Funding agency deadline is August 3, 2015.
