Welcome from the Vice President for Research
Greetings from Case Western Reserve University. Located in the heart of Cleveland’s University Circle, CWRU is a place where faculty and students come together to advance knowledge and make discoveries that change lives. We not only rank among the nation’s top universities in terms of research expenditures but also in invention disclosures and licensing agreements. We nurture groundbreaking work and collaborate with industry and other organizations to bring our discoveries and inventions to society.
CWRU researchers are among the most distinguished in the world. We have 16 Nobel Laureates among current and former faculty and alumni, 4 members of the National Academy of Sciences, 6 members of the National Academy of Engineering, and 11 members of the National Academy of Medicine.
Our achievements in research are not limited to preeminence in the biomedical sciences and engineering. We also partner with local artistic and cultural institutions such as the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame on a broad range of projects that make important scholarly contributions in the humanities and social sciences.
Our top-notch facilities include state-of-the-art labs, information technology services that support “big science,” and collaborative partnerships with our clinical affiliates: the Cleveland Clinic, the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center, the MetroHealth System, and University Hospitals Case Medical Center.
Extraordinary research requires an outstanding infrastructure. Our Office of Research and Technology Management provides support to seek out grant funding, to facilitate industrial sponsorship, and to transfer university technologies to the marketplace. Case Western Reserve is a place for people driven to make a difference, and our office exists to help them succeed.
Contact us. We want you to see what our campus can offer.
