Currently, his work with the Begun Center includes areas such as criminal justice (e.g., Cuyahoga County’s Second Chance Act and the Local Incarceration Project), child welfare (e.g., Finding Families Implementation with The Village Network at Cuyahoga County Department of Children and Family Services), Children and Family services (e.g., evaluation services for the Family and Children’s First Council of Cuyahoga County) and adolescent mental health (e.g., Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Service’s SAMHSA awarded expansion grant for implementing systems of care).
Dr. Stormann’s prior experience includes involvement as Lead Evaluator with the Neighbor-to-Neighbor Program developed by the West Side Community House. He has also worked with the Eureka! Ranch as Director of Research, the program and his research receiving profile coverage on CNN, in Advertising Age, and on National Public Radio.
Dr. Stormann has served on the Advisory Board of The National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health Family-to-Family Initiative.
Q: Why is your work at the Begun Center important to you, to our community, and to the world? A day doesn’t pass by without something in the news about crime and violence. If you have not been impacted directly the odds are high that someone you know and care about has been affected directly. I am fortunate to work with a dedicated group of people in the support the programs and initiatives to improve the well-being and safety of children and families.
Q: What is a cause about which you are particularly passionate? I support a number of wetland conservation efforts and I like to build and restore nesting habitats. I also raise ducks on my farm in Geauga County.
