Dr. Maria Pagano is Associate Professor of Child Psychiatry at Case Western Reserve University and is the current recipient of a career development award funded by NIAAA to further her career training and research skills in the study of prosocial behaviors among adults and adolescents in addiction recovery. Dr. Pagano is a licensed psychologist with extensive experience as a research scientist of more than 5 R01 longitudinal, naturalistic studies with individuals with substance use disorders and comorbid psychiatric disorders. Dr. Pagano has extensive experience as a senior statistician, publishing more than 10 peer-reviewed investigations each year that employed advanced statistical methods. Her independent line of research focuses on service as a mechanism of behavioral change in 12-step programs of recovery
