Thank you for your interest in attending POWER UP! -- the inaugural Social Justice Institute Student Leadership Conference. The driving force behind this conference is our passionate belief that inter-generational exchange between youth, students and practitioners is crucial for promoting social action.

As the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once remarked, "Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable... Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice and the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals." Events like this allow pockets within the university and its neighboring communities to learn from each other and from outside experts. They spur critical dialogue, provide practical training, prompt spontaneous conversations, facilitate organic partnerships, and lead to new understandings and insight.

We welcome your participation, and ask that you commit to the entire Saturday conference. because each session is part of a broader, interactive, training process. Each session will set the stage for the next one -- starting with discussing what is social justice, identifying issues, learning campaign frameworks, and crafting plans for action. We also ask you to take a minute to complete the registration form below. If you are registering someone other than yourself, please provide sufficient information to enable us anticipate their dietary needs, audio-visual requirements, and current academic level.

We look forward to seeing you at the conference!
