Samantha holds two degrees from John Carroll University: a bachelor of arts in Sociology and a master of arts in Nonprofit Administration. She has eleven years of experience in marketing, database and volunteer management, and event coordination. She has worked in nonprofit development, refugee resettlement and ESL instruction, and with her alma mater coordinating volunteer service and justice opportunities for college students.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree, she spent two years living on Pohnpei, a small Pacific island in the Federated States of Micronesia, as a Jesuit Volunteer. She volunteers as the Akron Women’s Facilitator for the Ignatian Spirituality Project, which offers spiritual retreats to men and women in recovery from homelessness and addiction, and is active in justice work.

She previously served as part of the research administration for the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education for four years, and joined the Social Justice Institute in September 2021.

Samantha's technical competencies include Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Google applications, social media, website management (WordPress, Wix, SquareSpace, Weebly), email marketing (Constant Contact, MailChimp), survey design and administration (Wufoo, Gravity, Qualtrics), donor management (Raiser’s Edge, DonorSnap, DonorPerfect, GivePulse), photo storage and sharing, graphic and infographic design, and digital media.
