LaShon Sawyer is the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Digital & Online Learning. In this capacity, she is responsible for the vision planning, program management of the online format, and the development and advancement of digital academic assets and learning throughout the Mandel school. In this position, LaShon utilizes over 20+ years of social work clinical and administration experience to maintain high standards for academic rigor.

LaShon received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wright State University. She also holds a master’s degree in Social Science Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She completed her Ph.D. in Criminal Justice at Capella University. She was a 2015-2016 Ethics Table Fellow with the Beamer-Schneider Professorship in Ethics at CWRU. LaShon’s primary research areas are re-entry policies and services for individuals with criminal convictions and online education service delivery for adult learners.

A native of Cleveland, Ohio, LaShon loves to spend time enjoying locally owned Cleveland businesses and time with her son and extended family.
