Field Instructor Training and Appreciation Celebration on June 29

All Mandel School Field Instructors and Task Supervisors in the On Campus MSSA, Online MSSA, and Intensive Weekend MSSA programs are invited to a Field Instructor Training and Appreciation Celebration on Thursday, June 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

As part of our Centennial celebration, we will be featuring a very special guest speaker: Professor Marion Bogo from the University of Toronto. Professor Bogo is the coauthor of The Practice of Field Education in Social Work: Theory and Process and is one of the world’s foremost experts on field education and supervision.

Hosted and organized by the Mandel School Field Education Department, the event will include continental breakfast, lunch, 3 CEUs for in-person attendees, free parking, and a special Centennial gift celebrating the integral role of field agencies in the 100-year history of the Mandel School.

UPDATE: This event is FULL for in-person attendees. However, it will be livestreamed for those Field Instructors and Task Supervisors who are unable to attend in person. CEUs are not available for livestream attendees.

About Professor Marion Bogo:

Marion Bogo is Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto. She is the former Field Director, Dean, and first appointee to the first Endowed Chair in Social Work. Her research focuses on social work education, especially field education as well as the conceptualization and assessment of professional competence. She has published over 125 journal articles and book chapters, and 6 books. She has consulted to schools of social work in North America, Asia, and Europe. In 2013 she was awarded the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award from the Council of Social Work Education, USA in recognition of her contributions to social work education and to improving assessment of professional competence.  In 2014 she was appointed as an Officer of the Order of Canada for her achievements in the field of social work as a scholar and teacher, and for advancing the practice in Canada and abroad.
