High Youth Unemployment Contributes to Youth Idleness

In the article “Pathway to Resilience will focus on jobs to curb youth violence”  on December 7th 2016,  The Plain Dealer discusses an analysis from earlier this year in “Research shows link between joblessness and youth violence: Pathways to Peace” by Claudia Coulton, co-director of the Poverty Center. Coulton points out that the correlation between the idle youth rate and the youth violence rate in Cleveland and the rest of Cuyahoga is not the same as youth idleness causing youth violence.
