Monday, November 21
Room 115 of the Mandel Center
2 PD Hours
The outcome of the election has inspired conversation about our roles as social work educators and as students. We are keenly aware that our community stands across the spectrum of political views. We do not wish to advocate for a side, rather we intend to encourage dialogue to articulate the implications of the election on our profession and work environment.
Together we will:
- Engage with each other in a safe space by asking questions and garnering a deeper understanding of our own views and those of our peers
- Ensure understanding of the political process, implications, and possible impact on our coursework and professional trajectory
- Provide tools needed to engage in critical discussions around politics, as many of us are going home to places where our families may share different political viewpoints.
- Create a lasting, collaborative environment, grounded in understanding, gentle respect, and heartfelt support
*Unfortunately, virtual participation will not be possible for this event.
