Program: MSSA, Full-Time 2nd Year – Children, Youth & Families
Hometown: Akron, OH
Why social work? “I started out in nursing. Kids have always been my passion, and when I found out nursing wasn’t for me, I took psychology and then moved into social work. I’m really interested in residential care, and I’m at Safely Home in Bedford this year for field. I love it! I’m learning all about creating a home for children who don’t have anywhere else to go.”
Favorite thing about Cleveland? “It’s so big, and there’s always something new I find out about in Cleveland that I didn’t know. Akron is a lot smaller – easier to maneuver around. Cleveland keeps you on your toes.”
Fun Fact: “I’m a bowler! And I like country music. I have three brothers and three sisters, and I’m the second youngest. I’m also the first person in my family to get a master’s degree.”
