Sarah S. Andrews has been appointed by the Case Western Reserve University Board of Trustees to the rank of Senior Instructor Emerita upon her retirement on June 30, 2020.

For a faculty member whose service is deemed so exemplary, being given a lifetime appointment is the final honor a university can bestow on someone.

"Sarah has been a consummate member of our faculty," said Grover C. Gilmore, the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Dean in Applied Social Sciences. "She has educated two generations of students and served the school in important administrative posts. She also has been very generous in assisting faculty members in course development and in becoming better teachers. Sarah leaves a rich legacy at the Mandel School."

Andrews has been a full-time faculty member for 24 years, serving as assistant dean for academic affairs from 2004 to 2015, and senior instructor and director of school social work from 2015 to 2020. She will continue to manage school social work, advising current students and assessing and managing post-graduate applicants, through the 2020-21 academic year as a part-time adjunct instructor.
