Khyati Patel, MPH, is a public health professional with a focus on health promotion and disease prevention, and global health. Khyati earned her Bachelor in Dental Surgery from Pune, India. She picked up an early love for public health while working in rural India serving the underprivileged population. She plans to continue working as a community-oriented public health professional.
Why is your work at the Begun Center important to you, to our community, and to the world? Violence and abuse are major ongoing public health issues nationally and internationally. Not only does it negatively impact the individuals but also, has rippling effects on the family, community, and the society. Here at Begun Center we focus on understanding the roots of violence and preventing its occurrence at all socio-ecological levels. I am excited to work with a dedicated team of professionals, making science integral to identifying effective policies and programs for violence prevention.
What is a cause about which you are particularly passionate? Behavioral health and global warming.
