Led by Jeff Kretschmar, Ph.D., Research Associate Professor and Managing Director of the Begun Center, PERI provides services via a team of expert evaluators located in the Begun Center at CWRU.

In November 2015, PERI was introduced to a gathering of more than two dozen Cleveland-area social service leaders. PERI founders, Research Associate Professor Jeff Kretschmar, PhD, and Patrick Kanary, Begun Center National Advisory Board Member and former Director of the Center for Innovative Practices, recognized that nonprofit organizations face increased pressure to show the effectiveness of their programs and services through measurable outcomes, but often lack the resources in house to conduct comprehensive evaluation and are unable to pay current market rates for evaluation services. Although nonprofits provide critical services to the community, inability to demonstrate program effectiveness can compromise an agency’s ability to advocate for additional funding opportunities at the local, state, and federal level. PERI was developed to help address the need for nonprofits to have access to affordable evaluation services.
