COVID-19 Vaccinations

March 15, 2021

Dear Mandel School students,

I hope this letter finds you well and that you have been enjoying your Mandel School experience both in the classroom and within your field education and nonprofit practicum experience for this semester. It continues to be both a busy and exciting time at the Mandel School.

As part of our efforts to continue to navigate the complexities of field placement and practicum through a pandemic, and our desire to support and encourage vaccination among students in field placement sites, we wanted to give you some updates. We are currently not aware of additional opportunities geared directly towards students who are involved in a field setting or practicum to secure vaccinations through campus administration. As a result, we are encouraging all students who have not received a vaccine,, but who wish to do so to notify their local department of health to inquire about eligibility and availability.

Presently, if you are a Cleveland, Ohio resident and meet the COVID vaccination eligibility guidelines issued by the state of Ohio, you can schedule an appointment at Case Western Reserve University online or by calling 216-368-1964. Additionally, if you are an Ohio resident and feel you meet the criteria guidelines for the COVID vaccination, you may contact the Ohio Department of Health COVID-19 hotline at 1-833-427-5634 or visit their website . You may also contact your local county department of health for information on vaccine availability. For students outside of the state of Ohio, please contact your state and/or local department of health for guidance on your eligibility status, as well as where you may be able to secure a vaccination appointment.

Thank you for your service and resilience working in a field setting through a pandemic. Stay safe and enjoy the rest of your semester.

Sincerely,
Ronald Davis, MSW, LSW
Assistant Dean, Academic Affairs, Field Education and External Relations
