Establishing Care at Counseling Services

University Health and Counseling Services (UHCS) has improved access to counseling services with walk-in services available during all office hours. We have made the process of accessing care more efficient and have eliminated the wait to establish care.

It is as straightforward as this: If you would like to see a counselor, walk in.

Students can walk in to our Sears Library location (suite 220) between 8:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and Thursday between 9:30 AM and 4:40 PM. Students will generally be seen in the order that they arrive, although this may vary if there is a student who needs to be seen more urgently. 

Our paperwork is now electronic! Students can complete forms on their phones, laptops or on the devices available at Counseling Services. At the end of the initial session, appropriate follow-up appointments will be scheduled.

Students in crisis may also walk in anytime M/T/W/F between 8:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m and Thursday between 9:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m..

After Hours/Weekends/Holidays

Any student in crisis after hours, on weekends, or during holidays, whether they have previously been seen at Counseling Services or not, can call our main number at 216.368.5872 and speak to our On-Call Counselor.

Canceling or Rescheduling an Appointment?

Call 216.368.5872 Monday through Friday between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please call at least 24 hours in advance so that your appointment time may be given to another student. Rescheduling an appointment for another time in the same week may not be possible.

Concerned about a student?

Anyone who is concerned about a student can call our 216.368.5872 in order to speak with a counselor for consultation.
