Recycle as You Move Out!

REScycle is in full swing! The end of the year and moving out can be a hectic time and finding a place to responsibly discard unwanted items can be hard. At CWRU, we are concerned about our waste and are always trying divert it away from landfills.

While students move out, they are encouraged to not trash their unwanted items but instead donate! Each res hall and Triangle Tower 2 has two boxes for donations found in the hall lobby. Students should place clothes, school supplies, books and working appliances in the large boxes and unopened/ unused food and health and beauty items in the small boxes in their lobbies. Boxes will be in res halls from April 25 through May 16. Additionally, students can put in a maintenance request through myHOUSING to donate larger items and furniture through May 6.

The boxes of unwanted items will be taken to local nonprofits and recycling facilities. Simple Recycling will recycle unusable clothing while the Greater Cleveland Food Bank will accept food donations. The City Mission will take usable clothes, linens and bedding and DonateStuff.com will make sure other items get to nonprofits that need them.
