Lauren Vargo is a Research Assistant with the Ohio Produce Perks Statewide Evaluation at the Swetland Center, and also works on the FreshLink Ambassador Project housed in the Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods. Previously, Lauren was the Produce Perks Program Coordinator at The Ohio State University Extension in Cuyahoga County and has worked with farmers’ markets, local food access, and SNAP incentive programs in Cleveland for several years.   

Lauren grew up east of Cleveland and attended Ohio University to earn a Bachelor’s of Science in Geography and a minor in Environmental Health. After graduating from Ohio University, Lauren returned to Cleveland to earn her Masters of Urban Planning and Development with a specialization in Environmental Sustainability from Cleveland State University. Lauren strives to live and work with the intention of creating sustainable communities and values the relationship between human health and the built environment. Currently living in Columbus, Lauren is also a certified 200-hour yoga Instructor and is a healthy food and lifestyle advocate.
