foodNEST team in NYC with FFAR

Swetland Center Director Dr. Darcy Freedman and foodNEST 2.0 collaborators (from front to back) Dr. Jill Clark, Dr. David Ngendahimana, and Dr. Dominique Rose traveled to New Lab in Brooklyn, NY from November 4-5, 2019 for the Smart Urban Food Systems convening hosted by the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research (FFAR). This meeting also provided a space for the FFAR "Tipping Points" grantees, including the foodNEST 2.0 project, to share lessons learned related to modeling food system complexity and discuss strategies for translating simulation models into strategy packages to move the needle on key outcomes including economic opportunity, food security, and nutrition equity. The New Lab space provided an innovative context to energize outside-of-the-box thinking and networking to stimulate equitable food systems change.
