Abigail Roche a Pre-Doctoral Fellow at the Mary Ann Swetland Center for Environmental Health providing research support on several studies. She is an Epidemiology and Biostatistics Ph.D. student in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). Abigail received her Master of Science degree at Colorado State University for Nutrition Science and her Bachelor of Science at California State University, Chico in Food and Nutrition Science. Abigail completed her dietetic internship at the Memphis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Before starting the PhD program, Abigail was a practicing Registered Dietitian in Memphis, TN.  She served as a community research dietitian, facilitating culinary nutrition classes for community members and medical students. She then became the Nutrition Manager at a community-based agency that serves people living with HIV, overseeing the food pantry and providing medical nutrition therapy. Abigail has also had several teaching engagements; first teaching Nutrition Science at a health-focused college then creating the “Food Policy” course for the Masters in Environmental Nutrition program at the University of Memphis.

Now in Cleveland, Abigail serves at the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Food Policy Coalition Fellow and as a PhD Student Representative for the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences. In her spare time, Abigail loves to garden, preserve local produce, and hike with her dogs and partner.
