CWRU Faculty and Staff value times to gather and to engage in conversation about any number of topics. This UCITE session will provide an opportunity to do just that: gather, eat, and discuss!
The topic for this first Conversation with Colleagues will be “Engaging Millennial Learners.” Psychology professor Christy Price published an article in 2011 that documented what 100 Millennial learners preferred in assignments, assessments and characteristics they preferred in their professors. Join a conversation in which we compare Dr. Price’s findings from 2011 with faculty and staff perceptions of our current CWRU student community toward a goal of identifying ways we can empower people to learn.
Matthew Garrett, UCITE interim director, will facilitate the debut of Conversation with Colleagues. Pre-registrants will receive information from Dr. Price’s research findings before the 11/1 Lunch and Learn session. Participants are encouraged to share their own thoughts, experiences, and ideas with a goal of moving teaching and learning practices forward on our campus.
Please join us for that discussion on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen Building (at the corner of Euclid and Adelbert) immediately on the left if you enter through the Euclid Avenue revolving door.
A pizza lunch will be provided during this session. To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend this session by sending a message to ucite@case.edu.
