Creating an inclusive classroom

Date Released: 19 November 2015

As you may know, the CWRU campus community is becoming more and more diverse with every incoming class. In order to create the most inclusive environment for learning possible, we thought it would be useful to meet some of the individuals who can help faculty think about some aspects of this diverse community, and the resources that are available for support and information.

This session will give participants strategies for creating a learning climate that is supportive and inclusive of all students.

This Thursday, we will be welcoming  several  individuals who play important roles on our campus: Liz Roccoforte, Director of CWRU's LGBTQ Center, who will provide current information about LGBTQ issues; and Naomi Sigg, Director of Multicultural Affairs, who will help explain how her office can help members of our campus community.  Both  of them of them will discuss  how to best respond to issues that may arise in one's classroom related to gender identity, race and sexuality.

Join us for that discussion on Thursday, November 19th from 12:00-1:00 pm in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen Building (at the corner of Euclid and Adelbert).

Pizza lunch and sodas will be provided at this session. To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend this session by replying to this email or sending a message to ucite@case.edu.
