Date Released: 30 July 2015
As we prepare for the coming academic year, it is good to be reminded of the importance of getting off to a good start. Plenty of research suggests that those faculty who strive to create a good first impression and a warm climate in the classroom not only obtain better educational outcomes, they and their students have much more enjoyable experiences than those who neglect to pay attention to doing so.
The nature of the climate can be influenced even by simple things that we may not pay much attention to, like the wording of the syllabus.
At the next UCITE session we will discuss the many elements that go into creating a warm classroom climate.
Join us for that session on Thursday, July 30, 2015 from 12:00-1:00 pm in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen Building (at the corner of Euclid and Adelbert). Please use the Adelbert Road doors.
Pizza lunch, sodas, and water will be provided at this session. To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend each session by replying to this email to ucite@case.edu.
