Date Released: 16 April 2015
Herrick Room, Allen Library Bldg, 12 p.m.
Along with the creation of several high-tech classrooms that have the tools to enable active learning, the university has also created a program known as the Active Learning Fellowship to assist faculty in making the most of these classrooms.
Three semesters of data have been collected from CWRU's active learning initiative comprising four new learning spaces and over a dozen faculty fellows who have been a part of the Active Learning Fellowship. This session will report out on the data collected so far by ITS staff and will also feature faculty discussing their experiences in developing and teaching active learning courses.
The goal of the session will be to help faculty learn about the challenges and opportunities in developing active learning courses and how they can optimize their chances for success. Speakers will include professor Betsy Tracy (MSASS) and James Juergensen, Tina Oestreich, Brian Yuhnke, Mike Kenney from ITS.
Join us for that discussion on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 12:00-1:00 pm in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen Building (at the corner of Euclid and Adelbert) immediately on the left if you enter through the Euclid Avenue revolving door.
Pizza lunch, sodas, and water will be provided at this session. To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend this session by replying to this email or sending a message to ucite@case.edu.
