First-Year Students

Date Released: 15 September 2016

Session description:

The transition into higher education is a critically important time in a student's academic career. Those students who are able to quickly adapt and integrate into university life have better overall outcomes in retention and graduation rates. As as result, CWRU makes a concerted effort to promote first-year student success through the efforts of the Department of Undergraduate Studies, Housing and Residence Life, and the Department of the First Year Experience and Family Programs.

During this UCITE event, Edwin Mayes (Director) and Kathy Petras (Associate Director) of The First Year Experience and Family Programs will discuss where our first-year students were before they came to CWRU, how the class of 2020 handles school, and the concerns the University has articulated that may be early indications that a student is not be making the transition into a productive and successful college student.

Join us on Thursday, September 15th, 2016 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen building (at the corner of Adelbert and Euclid). Pizza lunch and sodas will be provided at this session.

To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend this session by replying to this email or sending a message to ucite@case.edu.
