Student Success: Who We Are, How We Help

How can we enhance the experience of undergraduate students at Case Western Reserve University? What roles can faculty play in this process?

The launch of the Student Success Initiative this fall has brought together existing resources (Post-Graduate Planning and Experiential Education, First-Year Experience and Family Programs, and Academic Resources) and introduced a new resource (Student Advancement) with the goal of better supporting students throughout their time at CWRU. Faculty are critical partners in this endeavor, but many may be unfamiliar with the changes and the newly available opportunities for students. This UCITE session will offer the chance for faculty to learn about the various functions of each office in order to collaborate and connect their students with appropriate resources.

We will be joined by Thomas Matthews (Interim Associate Provost, Student Success), who will provide an overview of the initiative. Directors Michael Mason (Student Advancement), Drew Poppleton (Post Graduate Planning and Experiential Education), and Edwin Mayes (First-Year Experience and Family Programs) will speak to their respective areas.

Attendees will have time for questions and discussion, as well.

Join us for that discussion on Thursday, October 18 from 11:30 am -12:20 pm in the Herrick Room, which is on the ground floor of the Allen Building (at the corner of Euclid and Adelbert) immediately on the left if you enter through the Euclid Avenue revolving door.

A pizza lunch will be provided during this session. To help us estimate the amount to order, please let us know if you plan to attend this session by sending a message to ucite@case.edu.
