No. The facility is available to anyone, regardless of affiliation. However, if either the bride or groom is an alumnus, you’re eligible for a 25% discount on the rental fee. Other related family members who are alumni would not qualify for this discount.

The University Center is available for weddings only during the summer. We accept reservations after commencement (mid-May) and through orientation (mid-August). Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate reservations while the university is in session through the fall and spring semesters.

We accept reservations up to one year in advance. Take a look at our availability calendar to see if your preferred date is available.

Yes. The University Center’s exclusive catering provider is Bon Appétit Management Company. Bon Appétit will work with couples to develop a custom menu perfectly suited for their special day. They purchase at least 20% of ingredients from small owner-operated farms and ranches within 150 miles of the facility. By using only the highest-quality fresh ingredients and whole foods, Bon Appétit cooks every menu from scratch, ensuring even your most discerning guest can dine worry-free.

Every menu is custom. Bon Appétit can create anything from a buffet to 4-course served dinner. Depending on your budget and tastes, they’ll work with you to develop the menu of your dreams.

No. As the exclusive caterer and owner of the facility’s liquor license, Bon Appétit must provide all alcohol. Bon Appétit can often accommodate special requests with advance notice and can make serving arrangements based on your preferences. Security is required when alcohol is being served, but this fee is built into the overall rental fee.

Yes. You are welcome to work with any outside bakery. Bon Appétit is happy to cut the cake for no additional fee.

No. You are welcome to work with any other vendor you prefer. When you’ve selected your DJ, photographer, bakery or anyone else, just put us in touch with them and we’ll work out the logistics.

Yes. Included in the rental fee are two smaller rooms on each side of the ballroom for the wedding party and a private green room for the bride. The rooms lock so personal belongings will be safe while the wedding is going on. These rooms do have exterior windows so we would encourage the wedding party to arrive already dressed.

The University Center is attached directly to an underground parking garage. The cost of parking is not included in the overall rental fee. If you’d like to make arrangements to have parking fees covered for your guest, we can work with Parking Services to do so. Otherwise, guests will be responsible for their own fees and pay upon departing. You are also welcome to arrange valet service with any provider.

Yes. The University Center does not permit the throwing of rice, birdseed, confetti, or glitter and does not permit the use of open flames. Additionally, Case Western Reserve University is tobacco-free and no smoking (including vaping) is permitted, even outdoors. Please view the facility’s policies and procedures for more details.

That’s great! Please fill out our inquiry form and a staff member will reach out to discuss next steps. After touring and getting an official quote from us and catering, we would issue a contract and require a 25% nonrefundable deposit ($1,750) to secure the date.
