Google Hangouts Chat To Be Enabled

On Wednesday, October 24, Google Hangouts Chat will be enabled for the CWRU community in G Suite. Google Hangouts Chat is a messaging platform that makes it easy for teams to get their work done in one place. Collaboration tools include direct messaging, group conversations and dedicated virtual rooms to house projects over time.

Once it is turned on, users can access Hangouts Chat by clicking on the square grid icon in the top right of a G Suite screen and then clicking on “Chat” in the list of available apps (see image below). Classic Google Hangouts will continue to be available (click “Hangouts” in the apps list), and chat sessions will appear in both applications.
