Update Your VPN Software to Fortinet

Whenever connecting to the university network from a public network, CWRU community members should use the Virtual Private Network (VPN) for security and encryption. VPN is required when accessing certain university resources, such as the Software Center, select library tools and off-campus databases.

Installation of client software is needed to enable the VPN connection. [U]Tech upgraded the current system to Fortinet VPN to deliver a more reliable and compatible connection for users. The new Fortinet client software is now available at vpnsetup.case.edu.

People connecting via Cisco AnyConnect are encouraged to download and use Forticlient instead. Access using AnyConnect will continue through the end of the calendar year. However beginning January 2020 Forticlient is the only VPN client individuals will be able to use to access the university network.
